LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set

Apr 14,2025 Author: Jack

LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a stunning T-rex skeleton that extends over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is famously displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public at the LEGO Store.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex

**Release Date**: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
**Price**: $249.99
**Pieces**: 3,145
**Ages**: 18+
**Dimensions**: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is targeted at adults aged 18 and above, making it more suitable for display than for play. It may feature advanced building techniques, which could be challenging for younger builders. The scale of this set is truly awe-inspiring, and while the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide some perspective, the full impact of its over three-foot length is best appreciated in person. The skull of the skeleton closely resembles the existing LEGO T-rex skull set, which my son assembled and found to be visually striking. The addition of the full skeleton enhances the overall effect of this new set significantly.

The T-rex skeleton boasts articulated joints, allowing for a variety of poses. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted to your preference. As with many movie-inspired LEGO sets, this one includes several hidden Easter eggs for builders to uncover during assembly. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter counterparts, it is rapidly expanding. As a fan, I am excited to see more sophisticated sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup for adult builders.
