Monster Hunter Wilds Eliminates Gender-Locked Armor Sets: A Fashion Hunter's Dream Come True

Fashion hunting in Monster Hunter is about to reach a new level. Capcom announced during Gamescom's Monster Hunter Wilds developer stream that the upcoming title will finally break free from gender-restricted armor sets. This long-awaited change allows players to equip any armor, regardless of their character's gender.

The Monster Hunter community erupted in celebration, particularly among fashion-focused players. The previous system restricted players to gender-specific armor designs, limiting creative freedom and often forcing compromises between aesthetics and stats. The frustration of being unable to wear desired armor solely due to its assigned gender is now a thing of the past. No longer will players be confined to bulky male armor or revealing female sets, if those aren't their preferred style.

This change also addresses past inconveniences. In Monster Hunter: World, players had to purchase vouchers to change their character's gender to access different armor sets – a costly workaround. With the gender lock removed, this unnecessary expense is eliminated.

The implementation of a layered armor system, highly likely to return in Wilds, further enhances this development. Players can now freely mix and match armor pieces for optimal aesthetics without sacrificing stats, unlocking a vast array of customization options.

Beyond this significant update, the Gamescom stream also revealed two new monsters joining the hunt: Lala Barina and Rey Dau. For more details on these additions and other exciting features in Monster Hunter Wilds, be sure to check out related articles.
