The 7th generation iPad Air, released in March, is the current model. It's only one year newer than the 6th generation and the primary upgrade is the transition from the M2 to the more powerful M3 chip. The M3 chip is approximately 20% faster than its predecessor and only about 20% slower than the iPad Pro's M4 chip. The iPad Air retains its stunning Ultra Retina XDR display, supports Wi-Fi 6E and 5G cellular connectivity, and is compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Magic Keyboard, transforming it into a versatile iOS hybrid laptop.
