Schell Games and Innersloth, the masterminds behind Among Us 3D, have set the official release date for May 6, 2025. This eagerly awaited announcement was made via the game’s official Twitter (X) on April 16, sending waves of excitement through the gaming community.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its innovative cross-play multiplayer feature. In addition to this, the developers recently introduced a new currency called Stardust, which never expires, providing players with greater freedom to choose their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D is packed with thrilling features, including a permanent Tag Mode with the new Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, an array of new and returning mini-games, and a vast selection of new cosmetics.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is distinct from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Cross-play between these two games won't be available. Schell Games' FAQs clarify that Among Us 3D is designed to be a unique experience, stating, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
