Dell currently offers one of the most competitive prices on an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt desktop, the Alienware Aurora R16. You can purchase this gaming powerhouse starting at $2,349.99 with shipping included. This price point represents a fantastic value for a system designed to handle 4K gaming with high frame rates. In today's market, opting for a prebuilt PC is the most cost-effective way to acquire an RTX 5080 GPU without facing significant markups. Attempting to source this GPU for a DIY build could cost nearly as much as the entire prebuilt system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 model comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The current-generation Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU offers a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, 20 cores, and a 30MB cache. The system is cooled efficiently by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

Starting this week, Dell introduces a second RTX 5080 configuration featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 processor. With a max turbo frequency of 5.6GHz and 24 cores, this upgrade provides similar gaming performance to the Ultra 7 but excels in rendering and productivity tasks that benefit from additional cores.
The RTX 5080 is the second most powerful Blackwell graphics card, only outshone by the RTX 5090, priced at $2,000. It offers a performance boost of 5%-10% over the now-discontinued RTX 4080 Super. The RTX 5080 particularly shines in games that support the new DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, exclusive to Blackwell cards, further widening the performance gap.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE Review, by Jacqueline Thomas
"If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn’t make a lot of sense – it just doesn’t have much of a performance lead over the RTX 4080, though the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do make things look better in games that support it. However, for gamers with an older graphics card who want a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 absolutely provides – doubly so if you’re comfortable with Nvidia’s AI goodies."
