While Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy reigns supreme for many, it wasn't the first cinematic foray into Middle-earth. That honor belongs to the 1977 animated Hobbit, followed a year later by the equally animated Lord of the Rings.
Regardless of your prior viewing history, this is a deal you won't want to miss. The remastered deluxe edition of the 1978 animated Lord of the Rings movie is currently available on Amazon for just $5!

This 1978 adaptation cleverly blends traditional cel animation with rotoscoped live-action footage. This unique approach resulted in some unexpected gems—like a scene where Aragorn accidentally trips and falls, a moment that made it into the final cut! These charming imperfections add to the film's unique charm.
At $5, this remastered DVD is an absolute steal. Even if you're not planning an immediate viewing, it's a fantastic collector's item to complement your Lord of the Rings Blu-ray collection. For more incredible deals, check out Amazon's larger Presidents' Day sale.
