It's back, once again! Seth MacFarlane's beloved animated series, *American Dad*, is making a triumphant return to Fox, set to relaunch on the network in 2026. Fans can look forward to new episodes alongside fresh installments of MacFarlane's other iconic show, *Family Guy*. This midseason revival marks a significant homecoming for both series, which originally aired on Fox from 2005 to 2014 before moving to TBS until March of this year. The return of these shows is part of Fox's strategy to maintain a "winning position" in the primetime television landscape.
Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming lineup, stating via Variety, "Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that's filled with irreverence, fun, and much-needed laughter. Next year more than ever, we're bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu, and beyond."
Fox is currently buzzing with new developments regarding their programming strategy. They've unveiled their new streaming service, Fox One, which will seamlessly integrate news, sports, and entertainment content into a single platform. According to a press release from the network, Fox One will offer both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands, with the option to bundle with Fox Nation within the same platform.
While *American Dad* does not yet have a confirmed premiere date for its Fox resurgence, anticipation is high. Fans are eager to watch—and sing along to that catchy theme song—once the show returns. It's likely that *American Dad* will also be available on Fox One, though we'll have to wait until next year for official confirmation.
