The Anker 737 is a powerhouse and one of our top recommendations for charging the Steam Deck. This robust power bank, measuring 4.6"x2.2"x2" and weighing 1.4lbs, is best suited for your travel bag or backpack rather than your pocket. It features two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port, with the USB Type-C ports capable of delivering up to 140W of power. This flexibility allows for configurations like 140W from a single port or combinations such as 70W + 70W or 100W + 40W, depending on your devices.
When it comes to gaming handhelds, the Anker 737 can handle them with ease. It supports the maximum charging rates of the Steam Deck (38W), Asus ROG Ally (65W), Asus ROG Ally X (100W), and Nintendo Switch (18W), enabling you to play and charge simultaneously without any hiccups.
With a 24,000mAh battery, which translates to a 74Whr capacity, and an 80% power efficiency rating, you get approximately 59Whr of usable charge. This means you can fully charge a Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally about 1.5 times, the Asus ROG Ally X about 0.75 times, and the Nintendo Switch around 3.7 times. This capacity underscores why a 20,000mAh power bank is the minimum recommended for devices like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, especially the power-hungry ROG Ally X.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows power banks up to 100Whr in carry-on luggage, and the Anker 737 falls well within this limit at 74Whr. While its size might attract a second look at airport checkpoints, my personal experience—having been checked only once at Tokyo NRT and cleared without issues—suggests you'll have no trouble traveling with it.
