Ubisoft Mainz has recently lifted the veil on more details about their upcoming game, Anno 117: Pax Romana, with an exciting new trailer. Initially announced with two key regions—Lazio and Albion—the preview suggests that Lazio serves as the initial setting, setting the stage for players before they transition to the main arena in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer shared that Lazio starts as a tranquil setting, but an unexpected disaster forces players to venture into uncharted territories. These new lands are none other than Britain, known as Albion in the game, which presents its own set of challenges: harsh weather, rebellious tribes, and its distance from Rome, all of which make governance a formidable task.
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, players take on the role of a governor, tasked with navigating these challenges without solely relying on force. Instead, fostering peace and harmony by respecting and integrating local customs is emphasized. A highlight of the game includes the ability to customize ships strategically—players can opt for speed by adding more oarsmen or increase firepower with archery turrets on board.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to launch in 2025, available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms.
