The Apple Watch Series 10 is the latest mainstream model, with the Series 11 not expected until September. It features several enhancements over the Series 9, including a larger OLED Retina display, a new S10 processor that's thinner for a slimmer profile, and a slightly larger base model size of 42mm compared to the previous 41mm. There are also minor additions like a water depth gauge. If you're already using an Apple Watch Series 9, the upgrades might not justify an immediate switch. However, for first-time buyers, the Series 10 stands out as the best Apple Watch on the market.
When compared to the Apple Watch SE, the Series 10 offers a bigger 42mm size versus the SE's 40mm, a larger display with Always-On capability, a 30% more powerful processor, twice the storage, advanced fitness and health monitoring sensors, double-tap gesture support, and faster charging. While the SE is more budget-friendly at $199 on Amazon, the enhancements in the Series 10 are well worth the investment for most users.
Although technically feasible, using an Apple Watch with an Android phone is not recommended. Many of the Apple Watch's key features require an iOS operating system for full functionality. While there are workarounds to access some features, the effort involved might not be worth it for most users. If you're set on getting an Apple Watch, pairing it with an iPhone is the best route. For those committed to Android, numerous smartwatches are designed specifically for Android devices and would be a more suitable choice.
There are several other Apple deals available right now. If the Apple Watch seems too tech-heavy for your mom, consider gifting her a pair of AirPods or an Apple iPad tablet instead.
