How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE
After extensive trial and error, we've mastered the art of unlocking all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. While these stages don't demand high gaming skills or extensive exploration, they do require a significant amount of Reputation grinding. And we mean a lot!
Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE
To kick things off, you need to amass 25,000 Reputation points and reach the rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and locate Damiro D. Mado, the NPC with headphones on the second floor. He'll initiate the Arata Stage 1 quest, tasking you to collect 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.

The quickest method to gather these fragments is by defeating bosses, specifically Eto and Tatara, and then crafting them at a crafting station. To check your Reputation, speak with Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in a black suit and tie. Once you've gathered all 20 fragments, convert them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. If you struggle with bosses, our GHOUL://RE Boss and Raid guide can help you dominate.

Return to Damiro, who will then direct you to speak with "him". This directive puzzled the GHOUL://RE community for a while, but "he" is none other than Black Reaper of Doom And Despair.

Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE
To progress to Arata stages 2 and 3, you must switch to permadeath (PD) mode to unlock the legendary armor. It's advisable to team up with a strong group, as solo missions can be frustrating.
Once you've collected 100,000 Reputation points, take the elevator in the C.C.G. building to the Laboratory. There, you'll find Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, the NPC with a scalpel in a black suit, standing by the door.

Hand over five one-eyed Kokuja fragments and your 100,000 Reputation to complete Stage 2 and acquire Arata-Proto armor. Note that despite rumors suggesting you might need only 75,000 or between 90,000 to 100,000 Reputation, our experience confirms that 100,000 Reputation points are necessary for guaranteed success.
Remember, Arata Stages 2 and 3 must be played in PD servers to avoid receiving a repeated response from the Black Reaper and to successfully complete these stages.
Arata Stage 3 in GHOUL://RE
The final Arata Stage also involves "The Scalpel Guy", specific fragments, and a hefty amount of cash. You must remain in PD mode to pursue this epic armor.
Once you've obtained a single one-eyed Kakuja fragment and saved up 500,000 Yen, revisit Black Reaper of Doom And Despair at the C.C.G. building. Upon payment, he will teleport you to face Kishou Arima boss.
To defeat Kishou Arima, you'll need at least average gaming skills, focusing on jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing significant damage. With practice, even players of moderate skill can overcome him.

Be prepared for multiple attempts, as death is common in this encounter. Each retry will require another one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen. Upon defeating Kishou Arima, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. However, keep in mind that wearing Arata armor can be harmful to your character, as detailed below.
Arata Armor Tips & Tricks
Arata-Proto Armor Buffs
While Arata armor is incredibly powerful, it drains your hunger at an alarming rate and prevents you from eating while equipped. You'll need to remove Arata to replenish your hunger levels.
Despite these drawbacks, the armor's benefits are substantial. Notably, you cannot be ragdolled while wearing Arata, providing a significant advantage in all game scenarios.

Additionally, Arata boosts your character's durability, making you increasingly "tanky" and capable of both sustaining and dealing massive damage. If the armor depletes your hunger during combat, it will start consuming your health bar. Be cautious, especially in boss fights, and consider removing the armor if it becomes too risky to continue wearing it.
Reputation Grinding
The most efficient way to accumulate the necessary Reputation is by fighting bosses in PD mode. Though risky, each boss defeated in PD mode grants 1,500 Reputation, far surpassing the 500 earned outside of PD. Killing regular Ghouls yields only 100 Reputation per kill, making them a less optimal choice for grinding during Arata quests.
