May 24,2025 Author: Gabriella

Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a range of new features and updates that aim to enhance the gaming experience. From new game+ to additional difficulty settings and story content, Ubisoft is committed to keeping the game fresh and engaging throughout 2025.

In a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute video released today, Ubisoft detailed its comprehensive plans for the year ahead. The video highlights a specific schedule for May and June, showcasing the team's dedication to providing regular updates and free content to keep fans engaged with the latest stealth-action title.

This will be accompanied by a Codex update and quality-of-life improvements, including significant parkour enhancements and a photo mode update slated for next month. These updates are part of Ubisoft's ongoing commitment to listen to community feedback and refine the game accordingly.

“Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released,” said community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. “Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms.”

June will see the release of another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and a new feature allowing players to choose whether to keep headgear on or off during cutscenes. These updates are in direct response to player requests, and more features like new game+ support, additional story drops, and special collaborations are planned for later in the year.

The most anticipated addition to the post-launch content is the first major DLC expansion, "Claws of Awaji," scheduled for release later in the year. This expansion will introduce new content such as the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore, promising a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the DLC will be free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.

PlayAssassin’s Creed Shadows launched on March 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, bringing the long-running stealth series to Feudal Japan. The game has already made a significant impact, securing a spot on our list of the best games of 2025 so far and emerging as the best-selling game of last month.
