Boomerang RPG: Watch Out Dude dropped in March end of this year, and it has already crossed the 1 million downloads mark apparently. Now, to celebrate the occasion, SuperPlanet is teaming up with the hilarious webcomic series for an epic comedic crossover. It’s Boomerang RPG: Watch out Dude x The Sound of Your Heart!
In case you don’t know, The Sound of Your Heart is a South Korean webtoon series by Jo Seok. It follows his misadventures and his wacky family. It first appeared on Naver Webtoon in 2006. It’s the longest-running webtoon till now and wrapped up in July 2020. With more than 7 billion views, it even made it to Netflix as a comedy and animation series.
Well, the collab brings the characters of the series to life with their own quirky personalities. You’ll see Jo Seok himself and his tough-as-nails wife Aebong who doesn’t shy away from beating him up. Also, you’ll see Jjaeddanyo, the lovable father-in-law and Buuk Suh, Cho’s friend who’s part flower and drops petals when he’s low on health.
In the Boomerang RPG: Watch Out Dude x The Sound of Your Heart event, your mission is to save Aebong, Jjaeddanyo and Buuk Suh from the dungeon. Once you clear the town dungeons, they will join your team to kick some enemy butt.
But Aebong also has an evil alter-ego, Dark Aebong. She is the final boss in the dungeon. Her animations are straight out of the comic, showing her furious reactions when Jo Seok messes up. It’s going to be a blast seeing her in action. Take a look at one of the collab teasers below!
You can snag the collab characters for free during the 21-Day Attendance Event. The collab also introduces some limited-edition boomerangs like a drumstick, a golf club, a hair dryer and even a stylus. Then there’s the Token Event which lets you collect tokens that look like kimchi, tomato, noodles and chicken, and exchange them for unique magic effects or legendary boomerangs.
