Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is set to launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, coinciding with the console's release date. This remastered version of the beloved 2012 Nintendo 3DS JRPG brings the game into the modern era with enhanced HD graphics, a revamped user interface, and new features such as the ability to fast forward through sections of the game. Preorders are now open, and you can find more details below.
Release Date: Out June 5
Price: $39.99
Where to Buy:
The game is surprisingly affordable at $39.99, which may be due to the fact that the physical version comes as a "game-key card" rather than a traditional game disc.
Some Nintendo Switch 2 games, including Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, are distributed via game-key cards. These cards resemble Switch 2 cartridges but do not contain the game data. Instead, you must insert the card into your Switch 2 to download the 11GB game from the eShop. Despite this, you can still lend or sell the physical card to others, who will need to use it to access the game.
Originally released on the 3DS, Bravely Default is a classic JRPG featuring turn-based combat and a quest to find four crystals. The game's unique combat system allows players to save turns and execute multiple actions at once, while a deep job system enables customization of party members' abilities.
The HD remaster retains these core elements and adds several new features, including the ability to fast forward through battles and cut scenes. Players can also adjust encounter rates, engage in online modes, and enjoy new minigames.
