BrownDust2 Unveils Onsen Training Update with New Story

Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since marking its 1.5-year anniversary in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this new update heats things up with a fresh twist to the game.

Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where you can engage in swordfighting battles and face unique challenges, all wrapped in the distinctive BrownDust2 style. Expect some monkey mayhem too—it's both hilarious and unpredictable.

BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training

This update introduces three new characters. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, can be obtained through the pickup draw. Blade, however, remains exclusive to the narrative.

The Onsen Training event story is set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, featuring a total of 30 battles, split evenly between normal and challenge modes.

The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a devastating defeat by a new student, Justia. In her quest to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring reputed for boosting physical strength. Her training takes an unexpected turn when she encounters the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.

Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate, comes to her rescue but refuses to train her. That's when Liberta, the hot spring manager, steps in and pledges to help Ventana win Blade's mentorship.

There’s a New Mini-Game

Introducing Onsen Tile Tactics, a new mini-game where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story unfolds in phases, starting with "Legendary Graduate" in the first week and culminating in "Beyond Legend" by the third week.

Players will battle both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss. In the third week, players face the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a massive monkey that becomes stronger when targeting enemies with damage-over-time effects.

Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. Lacking any properties, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires numerous chain stacks to defeat.

The update also brings new gear and costumes to collect. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
