Microsoft has recently announced an increase in prices for Xbox consoles, controllers, and upcoming first-party games. The new pricing for hardware is effective immediately, while the $79.99 price tag for new first-party games will be implemented this holiday season. If you're considering purchasing an Xbox Series X|S or a new controller, now is the time to act, as the updated prices are already reflected on Xbox's official store. However, some retailers may still offer the previous prices, but this won't last long.
Current Price: $499.99 at Amazon (Save 17% from $599.99)
Xbox Series X - $499 (Going Up to $599 Soon)
Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition - $449 (Going Up to $549 Soon)
The Xbox Series X is Microsoft's flagship console, boasting the power to run games at 4K resolution. As a proud owner, I find it outperforms even my PS5. If you prefer physical games, the standard model is the way to go. However, if you're comfortable with an all-digital library, the digital edition offers a $50 savings.
Current Price: $273.99 at Amazon (Save 28% from $379.99)
Xbox Series S 512GB - $299 (Going Up to $379 Soon)
Xbox Series S 1TB - $349 (Going Up to $429 Soon)
The Xbox Series S is an excellent choice for those embracing a digital-only gaming future. While it has less raw power and targets 1440p resolution rather than 4K, it's a solid option if that resolution suits your needs. Available in 512GB or 1TB models, I recommend the 1TB version due to the large file sizes of modern games and the high cost of additional storage.
Current Price: $60.96 at Amazon (Save 24% from $79.99)
Several Xbox controllers are also seeing price increases, though not all models are affected equally. The pricing for controllers has been more dynamic than for consoles, so the price hikes might be less noticeable. Here are the new prices for Xbox controllers:
Act quickly to take advantage of current prices before they rise.
