The runaway success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has transformed Sandfall Interactive’s trajectory, opening doors for the French studio to explore new projects. In a May 27 interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Sandfall Interactive COO and Producer François Meurisse shared insights into the studio’s future following their Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG.

“We’re definitely working on another game,” Meurisse confirmed. While details remain scarce, the team is enthusiastic about exploring new concepts. “I’m eager to dive deeper into the ideas we’re already brainstorming for the next project,” he added.

Meurisse highlighted the team’s growth, noting that many members were juniors when the studio began. “We’ve honed our collaboration skills over time,” he said. “Starting the next project with this experience puts us in a stronger position than when we founded the company five years ago. With higher expectations, it’ll be a challenge, but Guillaume and the team have some fantastic ideas.”

It’s uncertain whether the new project will be a sequel to Expedition 33 or an entirely new IP. Meanwhile, fans are also curious about potential DLC, with Lead Writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen recently hinting at a possible expansion for the game.

3.3 Million Copies Sold in 33 Days

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to hit remarkable milestones. On May 27, Sandfall Interactive announced via Twitter (X) that the game sold 3.3 million copies in just 33 days.

The post stated, “Truly unbelievable. As of today, this milestone is real, thanks to your incredible support. We’re endlessly grateful.” The game’s consistent success makes this achievement feel almost destined, adding a touch of magic to the numbers.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates on the game, check out our article below!
