Cognido: A University Project That Conquered the App Stores
Cognido, a fast-paced brain-training game developed by university student David Schreiber, is a solo project that's achieved remarkable success. Offering quick matches against friends and strangers, Cognido presents a diverse range of challenges, progressing from simple math problems to trivia and beyond.
With over 40,000 downloads, Cognido's popularity is easy to understand. While its squid-like mascot, Nido, may not possess the same comforting charm as Dr. Kawashima's brain training games, the fast-paced gameplay provides a unique and engaging experience.
A German-Made Game with a Global Reach
Unlike many university projects, Cognido offers both free and premium gameplay options. A subscription unlocks the full potential of the game, but a free trial allows users to sample the experience before committing.
A significant update is on the horizon, introducing a new "Clash" mode that allows for four to six-player competitions. This expansion promises even more engaging challenges for players.
