With the release of *MLB The Show 25*, fans are excited to dive into the latest Road to the Show mode, where you get to experience the journey of becoming a major league player. A crucial decision you'll face is whether to opt for college or go straight to the pros. Let's break down the options so you can make the best choice for your virtual baseball career.
In *MLB The Show 25* Road to the Show, you start as a high school player with big dreams and even bigger decisions. As you gear up for a state title run, scouts from top colleges and major league teams are watching your every move. Your performance in high school games and the MLB Combine will determine your draft stock and college offers.
After the MLB Combine, you'll commit to a school and go through the draft. Even if you plan on college, you'll get drafted, setting the stage for your big decision. Here's what *MLB The Show 25* offers:
The choice ultimately boils down to personal preference. If you've spent countless seasons grinding through the minors in previous games, heading to college might be refreshing. The allure of being the #1 overall pick and entering the pros as a more developed player is a significant draw. However, if you enjoy the challenge of climbing from the bottom, going pro right away could be more rewarding.
The Escapist chose the college route, enticed by the chance to be the top pick and the promise of a unique experience. Plus, the game fast-forwards to your third year during a championship run, so you won't be away from professional baseball for long. It's a way to enjoy the best of both worlds without a long detour.
So, whether you should go to college or go pro in *MLB The Show 25* Road to the Show depends on what kind of journey you want to embark on. For more tips, check out the best pitching settings for *MLB The Show 25*.
*MLB The Show 25* is currently in Early Access on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
