How to Complete For Whom the Bell Tolls in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Mar 21,2025 Author: Blake

Main quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be tricky, especially when you're sneaking around unfamiliar areas against the clock. This guide walks you through "For Whom the Bell Tolls," a mission where timing is everything.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough

The "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest begins after completing "Wedding Crashers." Hans is imprisoned in Trosky and faces execution once the bell tolls twelve times. Your task? Save him. Luckily, your punishment is less severe—labor around the castle—giving you a chance to act.

Begin by hauling sacks from a wagon to a nearby shed. This is non-negotiable. Grab a sack, carry it to the shed, drop it, and repeat until finished.

Help the Blacksmith

Next, assist the grumpy blacksmith by crafting a horseshoe. Find the forge (it's across from the archway), gather the necessary materials, craft the horseshoe, and deliver it to the stables.

Help Fanka the Cook

Retrieve a lockpick from a red pot on the shelves near the forge. Then, speak to Fanka, the cook. Offering your help grants you access to the noble's kitchen. While lockpicking isn't required, it boosts your reputation and earns you future food access.

Speak with the Chamberlain

The ailing chamberlain is in the kitchen. Persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion for access to the surgeon's workshop, or prepare to sneak in.

Make Fever Tonicum

Whether you convinced the chamberlain or not, access the surgeon's workshop (located upstairs, past the kitchen). Craft a Fever Tonicum, and a Digestive Potion if you helped the chamberlain. Sufficient ingredients are in the workshop chest.

Cure Thomas

If you helped the chamberlain, return with the Digestive Potion to gain access to Thomas's room. Otherwise, use stealth to navigate to his room, potentially distracting guards with pebbles along the way. Give Thomas's sister, Adele, the Fever Tonicum to trigger the cutscene that concludes the quest.

Completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" before the twelfth bell tolls rewards you with reputation. Regardless of timing, the quest's outcome remains the same.
