How To Complete Under the Straw Hat Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To embark on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll first need to reach Kuttenberg and initiate the "In Vino Veritas" quest. Once in Kuttenberg, locate Casper Rudolf, offering free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs your help gathering information to improve his wine.

You can either impress Havel with wine knowledge directly (requiring fine clothing and cleanliness) or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta for more information. To impress Havel, choose "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" during your conversation. Return to Casper with your findings.

Accessing the Vineyard

Next, Casper tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Avoid trespassing by following the main road. Speak with the recruiter, who will grant you the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue to the estate, bypassing a guard, and find Jerome on a bench. Inform him of your assignment.

Working the Vineyard

Your vineyard work begins the following day. You can either perform tasks like moving sacks and picking thistles for payment or proceed directly to find the secret incense. The incense is located in the cellar of the main building. Access requires either lockpicking skills or stealing Jerome's keys. Once inside, retrieve the Sulphur Wicks from the chest. Optionally, gather five seedlings for an increased reward (remember, this is trespassing). After completing these tasks, return to Casper to complete "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." You can then move on to other quests, such as "Master Schindel’s Toys."
