Tackling the *Primitive* weekly challenge in *Phasmophobia* can feel like stepping back into a world without modern tech—except this time, ghosts are definitely part of the package. Without any electronics to rely on, you’ll need sharp instincts and a solid strategy to survive and complete your objectives at 10 Ridgeview Court. Let’s walk through how to make it happen.
The Primitive challenge is among the more demanding weekly tasks in Phasmophobia, primarily because it strips away all electronic devices. This means no cameras, no EMF readers, no thermometers (aside from what little is provided), and no lights beyond what you’re given. Your mission remains the same: identify the ghost type and gather enough evidence to confirm it.
You must complete this investigation at 10 Ridgeview Court, a relatively manageable map layout that gives you space to retreat and regroup if needed. As with all weekly challenges, completing three successful investigations will fulfill the requirements.
Since electronics are completely disabled for this challenge, you’ll be relying mostly on your senses and limited tools. You begin with two Tier 3 Ghost Writing Books and two UV glowsticks—which act as both light sources and tools for detecting UV traces. Two Tier 1 Thermometers are also available for identifying cold spots.
Sanity management becomes crucial since you start with a full meter but have no way to restore it. There are no Sanity Meds available, so every moment spent in the dark or near the ghost chips away at your mental state.
To help defend against hunts, you’re equipped with two Tier 1 Crucifixes and a full set of Tier 1 Incense. Use these strategically—especially the crucifixes—to prevent deadly encounters.
One unconventional method to locate the ghost involves using the Ouija Board found in the laundry room downstairs. Asking “What is your favorite room?” may reveal its location, though doing so costs 50% sanity. Always say “Goodbye” after using the board to avoid triggering a cursed hunt.

With the right mindset and approach, even the most restrictive challenges like *Primitive* can be conquered. Stay calm, trust your instincts, and remember—just because you're going old-school doesn't mean you can't still come out on top.
