Recent cryptic teasers from Cyberpunk 2077 ignited fan speculation about a potential DLC or update, but CD Projekt Red later tempered expectations with a clarifying post. Here's a closer look at the details and the community's reaction.
Cyberpunk 2077 Addresses Speculation Over Cryptic Tweet
No New DLC or Update Planned
After the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account shared a mysterious message on September 1st, players began speculating about future content—leading CD Projekt Red to set the record straight.
"Just to be clear, this is not an announcement or reveal of any new content coming to the game," the follow-up tweet stated. "It's part of an activity celebrating the Phantom Liberty anniversary this month."

While some fans hoped for another DLC, a major content update, or even a New Game+ mode, others suspected the teaser might relate to the confirmed sequel or simply another photo contest. Given how quickly CDPR moved to downplay expectations, the simpler explanation seems more likely.
Fans Remain Skeptical

Although the game received what was called its "final" update in July, this isn't the first time CD Projekt Red has backtracked on concluding support for the dystopian RPG. Last September's Phantom Liberty expansion and the 2.0 overhaul were meant to mark the end of updates as developers shifted to other projects.
Since then, however, the studio has released three additional updates—further optimizing gameplay, introducing new vehicles, and delivering numerous quality-of-life improvements. As a result, many players no longer take CDPR at their word.
"I don't believe it. There is always something more with you guys," one fan commented, a sentiment echoed by many others.
Eager supporters even analyzed a tweet from senior community manager Amelia Korzycka about the teaser, which said: "All I can say is it's not the DLC and it's not the patch."
Her use of "the" led some to believe that both a DLC and a patch already exist. However, Korzycka left no ambiguity when asked directly about another expansion, responding simply: "No."
