While brute force can carry you through many quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, some situations demand subtlety. Here's how to persuade Captain Thomas that you're legitimate messengers.
Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's story, Henry's party encounters Captain Thomas while approaching the castle. Your objective is to convince him you bear a message for von Bergow.
You'll encounter these introduction dialogue choices:
| Dialogue Option | Playstyle | Description |
|---|---|---|
| "I'm a soldier and Lord Capon's bodyguard." | Soldier | Focuses on combat proficiency and armor skills, though this martial path comes with reputation for quick temper. |
| "I'm an adviser to a nobleman and an envoy." | Adviser | Emphasizes diplomatic solutions through knowledge, rhetoric, and social finesse. |
| "I'm the scout of our company." | Scout | Specializes in stealth operations and completing objectives without detection. |
While these selections primarily determine your starting attributes and playstyle, the Adviser option proves particularly valuable since numerous quests reward diplomatic approaches. Choosing this path grants early boosts to Persuasion and Charisma - crucial skills for NPC interactions.
Throughout subsequent exchanges with Captain Thomas, consistency proves key. Maintain your chosen persona (especially if selecting Adviser) without contradicting yourself. The narrative progresses smoothly regardless - if you slip up, Hans Capon will intervene to salvage the situation.
