Cosmic Update Hits Wild Rift in Patch 6.1, Mid-April

Apr 13,2025 Author: Skylar

LoL: Wild Rift Patch 6.1: Ascending Stars is set to launch on April 16th, bringing a cosmic overhaul that will transform everything from the menus to the battlefield. This update will immerse players in the Dual Nova galaxy, home to the Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star, promising an exciting new journey through the stars.

Three new champions are set to join the fray, each bringing unique and game-changing abilities to the battlefield. Ryze, the Rune Mage, will unleash immense Area of Effect (AoE) damage and can teleport teammates across the map with his Realm Warp ability. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives on chaos, using his Paranoia to plunge enemies into total darkness. Finally, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, will manipulate time, slowing down enemies and even reviving allies with his Chronoshift ability.

Several champions are also receiving reworks to enhance their gameplay. Garen’s Courage will now scale over time, making him even tankier, while his Judgment ability will shred enemy armor more effectively. Ambessa is transitioning from the jungle to the Baron lane, with tweaks to her damage and life steal. Smaller adjustments are planned for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista, ensuring a balanced and dynamic meta.

Beyond champion updates, a new Bandle-inspired Rift will shake things up in non-Ranked modes. This enchanting map features Enchanted Gifts that appear through portals during the laning phase, adding a fun twist to your matches. Mages will also benefit from long-awaited item updates, including the new Bandle Fantasy item which adds extra burst damage. Hextech GLP800 will slow enemies with frost bombs, while Malignance enhances ultimate abilities, making spellcasters even more formidable.

Ranked mode is also set for a revamp with the launch of the new season alongside the Challenger’s Star. Players can look forward to updates in the Ranked store and a more straightforward way to earn seasonal rewards. Midway through the patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock, introducing AAAARAM, a fresh take on ARAM with added augments and galactic visuals.

The Wild Pass for this patch will feature two stunning skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus. Twisted Fate’s new look will introduce an entirely new skinline, adding to the visual diversity of the game.
