Upon its 2019 debut, King of Crabs quickly gained a following thanks to its delightfully strange concept: a battle royale game starring crabs. Now, developer Robot Squid is diving back into crustacean chaos with an even more ambitious project called King of Crabs – Invasion.
From Epic Crab Battle Royale to Epic Crab Warfare
For this new installment, Robot Squid has shifted the gameplay format. Rather than dropping 100 players into a chaotic tidepool, the experience is now structured as a real-time strategy game—effectively transforming the original frenzy into a compact RTS.
As before, you command an army of crabs into battle in King of Crabs – Invasion. But instead of scavenging for weapons and consuming smaller creatures to grow larger, you now strategically position units across a linear battlefield.
Your forces include standard crab soldiers, catapults, and heavily armored tanks wielding maces. Victory hinges on overpowering your opponent before they destroy your side of the board—a challenge that varies with each map and the random obstacles introduced during play.

King of Crabs – Invasion Is on Android
The game is already available in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. Worldwide Android users can join the action starting May 30—just three days from now. Think of it less as a direct sequel and more as a creative spin-off.
The original King of Crabs was the first release from Robot Squid, a British indie studio founded in 2018. Partnering with Spilt Milk Studios, they launched the game in 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS. At its peak, fans even dubbed it "Fortnite with claws."
