Following the franchise's legacy, Darksiders 4 delivers a third-person action-adventure experience set in a lore-driven post-apocalyptic world, blending intense combat, environmental exploration, and puzzle-solving.
Players assume the role of one iconic Horseman, each boasting distinctive weapons and fighting techniques. The developers promise cinematic, adrenaline-fueled battles combining seamless melee combat, dynamic movement, and otherworldly powers.
While narrative specifics remain scarce, the game continues the Four Horsemen saga directly after the original Darksiders. Store listings reveal support for online co-op (2-4 players), single-player, and split-screen modes.
The franchise debuted in 2010 with Vigil Games' inaugural title, chronicling the Apocalypse's Horsemen battling to restore cosmic balance on a ruined Earth.
After 2012's Darksiders 2 sequel, Gunfire Games revived the series with 2018's Darksiders 3, followed by Airship Syndicate's top-down spin-off Darksiders Genesis in 2019. Gunfire subsequently focused on their Remnant series before returning to the franchise.
Though no launch timeframe is confirmed, THQ Nordic has already opened wishlist registrations for Darksiders 4.
