Treesplease's Longleaf Valley initiative surpasses two million trees planted! The developer has announced that their debut game's player-driven tree-planting initiative, in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, has resulted in over two million trees being planted, offsetting an estimated 42,000 tonnes of CO2.
This impressive achievement is further celebrated with the launch of a new in-game Veganuary event, featuring content inspired by the official Veganuary Cookbook. Players can participate regardless of their dietary choices, earning adorable baby animal rewards.
Environmental Accolades
Treesplease's success extends beyond the two million trees. CEO and founder Laura Carter received a Global Gaming Citizen award at the 2024 Game Awards for her climate action work, and Longleaf Valley earned the Best Purpose Driven Game award at the 2024 Playing of the Planet Awards.
The "Play it, Plant It" model clearly resonates with gamers who want to contribute to positive change while enjoying their games. Treesplease's significant contribution highlights the potential of gaming for good.
Looking ahead, the upcoming game Communite also emphasizes community and improvement. For more information, check out Jupiter Hadley's preview.
