Jagex has introduced a new boss battle in Old School RuneScape, featuring Yama, the Master of Pacts. This development continues the long-running Great Kourend questline. For those who completed A Kingdom Divided in 2021, this update delivers a fresh wave of high-stakes excitement.
If you remember defeating Yama's Judge back in 2021, that encounter was merely the start. Now, Yama himself takes center stage. He is a winged fire demon minotaur with hooves, horns, and a giant axe.
Yama resides deep within the Chasm of Fire beneath Kourend, gathering power and leading his fanatical Disciples. If you thought the Judge was difficult, be prepared: Yama is in a league of his own.
This is a high-intensity endgame encounter filled with lethal attacks, environmental dangers, and constant chaos, demanding fast reflexes and strong teamwork. For solo players, expect a truly demanding experience.
To begin, you must have completed A Kingdom Divided. Ensure you have your best gear and maxed combat stats before even thinking about signing the contract to confront Yama—yes, there is an actual contract involved.
Meanwhile, the Chasm of Fire now offers several new activities. There is a new mining and smithing area where you can extract Crimson Lovakite and forge it into Oathplate armor, which is essential for battling the demon lord.
Defeating Yama rewards rare items such as Demon Tallow (used to craft Surge Potions), a Chasm of Fire Teleport Scroll to skip the journey next time, and a Grimoire Page.
