Bandai Namco unveiled Digimon Alysion, a new mobile trading card game, at DIGIMON CON 2025. Dive into details about this project and the latest trailer for Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
At the DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco introduced Digimon Alysion, a mobile trading card game currently in development. Inspired by the success of titles like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, this game aims to bring the Digimon TCG experience to a broader mobile audience.
Digimon Alysion is a free-to-play digital card game where players collect cards featuring iconic Digimon and characters, build custom decks, and battle opponents. Notably, the game is expected to include a rich story mode, offering players more than just standard and competitive gameplay.
Alongside the announcement, Bandai Namco shared a trailer showcasing gameplay glimpses and introducing an all-female cast for the anticipated story mode. New characters include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, joined by a new Digimon named Gemmon.
No release date for Digimon Alysion has been confirmed, but Bandai Namco announced plans for a closed beta test, with further details to be shared later.
DIGIMON CON 2025 also spotlighted Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game’s background, key characters, and unique Digimon abilities featured in the title.
Hara confirmed that players can choose from three starter Digimon—Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon—familiar faces from the original Digimon Adventure anime. These selections align with fan speculation based on the game’s promotional artwork.
The game boasts an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing the 330 in its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory. The trailer highlighted fan-favorites like Angewomon, Gallantmon, and Agumon.
Hara also shared insights into the game’s narrative and protagonists. Players can select either Dan Yuki (male) or Kanan Yuki (female), both secret agents for the ADAMAS organization, tasked with tackling mysterious threats to humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon will join players on their journey. The story emphasizes time travel, with the protagonist navigating different eras.
Additional reveals included a 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to debut in October 2025. With major projects on the horizon, Digimon fans have plenty to look forward to.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for updates in our detailed article below!
