- New developer letter addresses player feedback
- Hero balance updates will occur more often
- Six trial hero slots to be introduced shortly
Fresh start emotes for Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku, Majin Buu (Good), and Zamasu were released recently, and Bandai Namco has now provided a clearer look at the upcoming plans for Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra.
The second Developer Letter details the team's refined approach to game balance and expanded player choices. These are modest yet significant adjustments that demonstrate a commitment to community input.
The most notable change is an increased frequency of hero tuning. Initially, balance updates for Gekishin Squadra were scheduled for the start of each season. However, after monitoring the early meta and player discussions, the team will now implement changes mid-season. This is a prudent step for a MOBA still establishing its footing, particularly in a debut season where hero power can vary widely.
Delving into specifics, Super Saiyan Son Goku will see a cooldown increase for Meteor Hammer and a longer Kaioken duration, though its buffs have been scaled back for fairness. Majin Buu (Good), meanwhile, receives welcome enhancements with a health point boost and more potent attacks.

The Trial Heroes system is also being expanded. Players will soon have access to six trial slots simultaneously, including Tier 1 characters. This provides a better opportunity to test heroes before making a commitment—a helpful feature for newcomers and casual players. Our Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra tips can further assist with this process.
In a move focused on cosmetic consistency, each new hero will now launch with matching emotes available immediately. This is part of a broader update to the shop and Capsule release schedule. While not major content, it helps keep the game experience fresh between larger updates.
Overall, Gekishin Squadra's first season is still in its early stages, and these adjustments signal the developers finding a sustainable update cadence. They aren't overhauling the game yet, but their responsiveness to feedback is a positive sign for the title's live-service future.
