EA Vancouver以全新更新开启EA Sports UFC 5的第二年，该更新将于1月9日下午1点（ET）发布。最新更新将阿扎马特·穆尔扎卡诺夫（Azamat Murzakanov）这位不败战绩、数据惊人的格斗家加入轻重量级行列。这位俄罗斯混合武术家以97的重拳评分、95的准确性和94的地面打击力加盟UFC 5。虽然本次更新仅添加一位新格斗家，但EA Vancouver也透露，还将推出三个新的替身角色，但并未透露具体是哪些格斗家的替身。
除了新增格斗家和三个替身角色外，EA Sports UFC 5的此次更新还包含一些小的错误修复和一项游戏性调整。根据完整的官方补丁说明（本文稍后列出），补丁1.18将肌肉增强器的体力消耗从x3.125降低至2.5。在错误修复方面，已修正部分语言的翻译错误，以及排名赛“站立互殴”模式下的比赛结果显示问题等。
此次更新紧随微软宣布EA Sports UFC 5将于1月14日加入Xbox Game Pass之后。虽然即将推出的游戏包括Road 96、Lightyear Frontier、My Time at Sandrock等将加入Xbox Game Pass标准版，但EA Sports UFC 5仅限于高级版订阅用户，因为它将通过EA Play加入Xbox Game Pass。
