Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free offering for January 16th, 2025. This escape-room style puzzle game is the fourth free title offered by EGS in 2025 and boasts the highest OpenCritic score of any EGS freebie so far this year.

Developed by Coin Crew Games, this puzzle game, initially released in July 2022, challenges players to train as "escape room masters" within the game's academy setting.
This isn't Escape Academy's first appearance as an EGS freebie; it was previously offered on January 1st, 2024. However, this giveaway marks the first time it's available for a full week. The timing is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is slated to leave the service on January 15th after an 18-month run.
Escape Academy's "Strong" rating on OpenCritic (80 average score, 88% recommendation) makes it the best-reviewed free game offered by EGS in 2025 to date. Positive player reviews across Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store further solidify its appeal. The game offers both solo and online/split-screen multiplayer options, with the latter considered a standout feature.
