The latest *Fields of Mistria* update introduces the charming Animal Festival! This annual town event is a fun way to showcase your hard-working farm animals and win fantastic prizes. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to participate and succeed.

The Animal Festival, like other seasonal events in *Fields of Mistria*, is an annual occurrence. Don't worry if you miss it one year; you'll have another chance the following year. It takes place on the 10th day of Winter, giving you plenty of time to prepare your animals.

Winning the Animal Festival

The main event is an animal contest where you can enter up to two animals: one small (chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc.) and one large (cows, alpacas, sheep, etc.). Remember, your animals must be fully grown adults to participate.

Entering the Contest

1. Go to the festival grounds in the town center and speak to Josephine at the registration counter.
2. She'll direct you to two booths: one for large animals (speak to Terithia) and one for small animals (speak to Landen). Select your entries from the menus provided.
3. Once you've chosen your animals, return to Josephine and tell her you're ready for judging.

Josephine will offer helpful tips. Your animal's score is influenced by two factors:

• Heart Level: More hearts (earned through petting, feeding, and letting them outside on sunny days) mean a higher score.
• Coat Color: Rare coat colors (pink, blue, etc.) boost your score.

Prizes

A cutscene reveals the winners for both small and large animals. Winning first place against Hayden's Henrietta (small) and Sunshine (large) earns you top honors! Prizes are awarded based on your placement. Winning in your first year can be challenging, requiring well-cared-for animals with high heart levels and potentially rare coat colors. Consistent animal care and farm upgrades significantly improve your chances of winning in future years.
