The Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition is now at its all-time lowest price of $49.99 on Amazon, surpassing even Black Friday deals, as confirmed by price-tracking site CamelCamelCamel. This marks a significant 33% discount from its original price of $74.99.
Originally launched on October 8 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 (with full PS5 compatibility), this collection encompasses the first six mainline Final Fantasy games in their meticulously remastered versions. Square Enix has chosen to refine rather than reinvent, preserving the iconic pixel art while enhancing it for today's screens.
The visual upgrade ensures the games look stunning on any display, from large TVs to handheld devices. The audio has been enriched with an orchestral overhaul, supervised by the legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu. Additionally, the collection introduces quality-of-life enhancements such as the option to turn off random encounters and increase experience and gil gains, catering to players who wish to enjoy the story without extensive grinding.
As a delightful nod to nostalgia, this edition comes with a sticker sheet showcasing 12 classic character sprites, including the Black Mage, a Moogle, Terra, Kain, and a menacing Kefka. While not the most lavish of extras, it's a charming addition for fans of the series.
At the original price of $74.99, the collection might have been a harder sell, but at $49.99, it's an easy recommendation for anyone keen to explore the origins of the series. Whether you're revisiting these classics or experiencing them for the first time, this remaster offers a well-crafted journey through six of the most influential RPGs ever created. With physical copies being the only collectible edition available, now is a great time to grab one before they become scarce, especially at this price point.
