It's the season of live streams, and major game releases are teasing their upcoming updates with video showcases. Following this trend, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is gearing up for its Spring 2025 update livestream on April 24th. While this stream will primarily recap information from a previous livestream available only in Japanese, it promises to shed more light on the eagerly anticipated Ever Crisis Academy event.
The Ever Crisis Academy event, set to launch on April 29th, offers a unique twist by reimagining the iconic characters of Final Fantasy VII as Japanese high school students in a parody of rom-com visual novels. Picture Cloud as a delinquent and Barrett wielding his arm-cannon transformed into a giant fan. These amusing reinterpretations add a fresh and entertaining layer to the beloved characters.
With the Final Fantasy VII franchise experiencing a surge in popularity, thanks in part to the ongoing remake series by Square Enix, the visual novel-style event might seem unusual to some Western fans. Nonetheless, it provides a novel and engaging way to experience the fan-favorite characters.
