Square Enix has announced that its 4v4 premium shooter game, Foamstars, will become free-to-play starting this fall. Read on to learn more about the announcements and details on the upcoming changes to the game.

Foamstars, Square Enix's Answer to Splatoon 3, Becomes Free-to-Play in Less Than a Year Since Launch

Foamstars, Square Enix's 4v4 premium shooter will become free-to-play, as announced by the gaming giant today in an update on its support page. Along with this change, the game will also no longer require a PlayStation Plus subscription for access. Currently available for $29.99 for the PS4 and PS5, Foamstars will be free to download and play starting on October 4, 2024, at 1:00 a.m. UTC.

For players who purchased Foamstars before the price change, Square Enix will distribute a Legacy Gift. This exclusive in-game bundle includes:
　⚫︎　12 color-variant Bubble Beastie skins
　⚫︎　1 exclusive Slide Board design
　⚫︎　1 title: "Legacy"
