Fortnite: All Oni Masks & How To Get Them

Fortnite Hunters ignites the battle with a thrilling update brimming with Japanese mythology-inspired skins, powerful weapons, and exciting new items. Central to this update are the Oni Masks, unique items granting mystical offensive and defensive abilities. These include the Fire Oni Mask and the Void Oni Mask, designed to boost your chances of Victory Royale.

Updated January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: While finding Oni Masks often involves a bit of luck, there are now two guaranteed ways to obtain them. This guide has been updated to include purchasing from Daigo and a new reliable location for guaranteed free masks.

All Oni Masks & How To Use Them

Void Oni Mask

The Void Oni Mask is a popular choice, offering excellent mobility. Throw a Void Tear (Shoot Button), then teleport to its location (Aim Button while the mask is equipped). The Epic variant has 15 uses and a 5-second cooldown; the Mythic variant boasts 50 uses.

Fire Oni Mask

The Fire Oni Mask focuses on damage. Press the Fire Button to launch a guided flame projectile dealing 100 damage. It can hit multiple clustered enemies. The Epic version has 8 uses and an 8-second cooldown; the Mythic version has 16 uses.

How To Get Oni Masks in Fortnite

Searching Elemental Chests

Elemental Chests are your best bet, guaranteeing an elemental item (including Oni Masks and Boons). Both Void and Fire Oni Masks can drop, but it’s still a bit of luck. Named POIs offer the highest chance of finding them.

Defeating Demon Warriors

Demon Warriors, marked by an Oni Mask icon on the map, sometimes drop Oni Masks (Void or Fire, depending on what they wield). They can also drop Typhoon Blades and Boons.

Searching Chests

Standard chests offer a (low) chance of Epic rarity Void and Fire Oni Masks. This method relies heavily on luck.

Purchase From Daigo

For a guaranteed method, purchase masks from Daigo at Masked Meadows using Gold Bars. You'll need to complete his Mask Expertise Quests first.

Loot From Daigo's Hidden Workshop

Skip the quests! Daigo's hidden workshop (below the north building in Masked Meadows) contains a machine with both masks. Loot it like a regular chest for a guaranteed drop.

Defeating Bosses (Mythic Oni Masks Only)

For Mythic Oni Masks, defeat Night Rose (Demon's Dojo) for the Mythic Void Oni Mask, or Shogun X (Shogun's Arena) for the Mythic Fire Oni Mask. They function identically to their Epic counterparts, but with more uses.
