Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past with Fan-Favorite Items

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, reintroducing classic items such as the Cluster Clinger. The festive Winterfest event adds to the excitement with unique quests, Icy Feet, Blizzard Grenades, and exciting skins featuring Mariah Carey and others.

Fortnite's Winterfest event has returned, blanketing the island in snow and introducing event quests and items like Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenades. The Cozy Cabin offers numerous rewards, and premium skins such as Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq are available. Beyond the holidays, Fortnite continues its collaborations, including those with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja. The OG mode also receives updates.

A recent Fortnite hotfix, while small, is significant for veteran players. The OG mode welcomes back the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 classic. Before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility options, Launch Pads were the primary traversal tool, enabling players to gain a tactical advantage or escape dangerous situations.

Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Gear

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The Hunting Rifle (Chapter 3) provides long-range combat options, particularly appreciated by players disappointed by the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Cluster Clingers (Chapter 5) also make a comeback, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, mirroring the Hunting Rifle's availability.

The success of Fortnite OG is undeniable, with 1.1 million players joining in during the first two hours of its launch. Alongside the mode, Epic launched an OG Item Shop, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
