The Empyrean series has taken the literary world by storm with the release of "Onyx Storm" earlier this year, propelling all three books to the top of Amazon's Kindle best sellers list for 2025. The series' meteoric rise began with the 2023 release of "Fourth Wing," which gained immense popularity through the power of Booktok. Since then, this captivating romantasy series has dominated bestseller charts, drawing in a wide audience with its enchanting blend of fantasy and romance.
The viral success of Rebecca Yarros' writing is evident in how "Onyx Storm" has attracted a fresh wave of readers to the series. The unique fusion of fantasy and romance elements in her storytelling has captured the hearts of a diverse readership. Furthermore, with the announcement of a "Fourth Wing" TV series in development at Amazon, the Empyrean series is poised to potentially outshine even the iconic Harry Potter franchise, provided it capitalizes on this momentum effectively.

Not only does the Empyrean series rule the Kindle charts, but it also holds a strong position on Amazon's list of top-selling physical books for 2025. Both the deluxe and standard editions of "Onyx Storm" rank within the top 10, while "Fourth Wing" secures a spot in the top 25. The only book that has recently outranked "Onyx Storm" is the latest release from Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games series. However, with an increasing number of readers diving into the series starting with "Fourth Wing," we may see shifts in these rankings by the end of 2025.
