Fallout 76 Season 20 Out Now
Unleash the Ghoul Within
The latest update for Fallout 76, titled "The Ghoul Within," is now live, as announced by Bethesda on March 18. This season introduces a host of ghoul-related features, including new mechanics, cosmetics, and the ability to redesign your C.A.M.P. Players can now embark on the "Leap of Faith" questline to undergo Ghoulification, which opens up a new section of the Savage Divide and introduces players to unique characters pivotal to their transformation.
As a Ghoul, players gain access to exclusive abilities like Glow and Feral, alongside 30 new Ghoul-exclusive Perks, known as "Gherks." The Feral ability replaces traditional hunger and thirst mechanics with a meter that influences various stats. At 0%, players experience a dramatic shift with "+150% Melee Damage, and lose -5 Endurance, -99 Charisma, -30 Max HP, -20 Max AP, -300% Hip-fire Gun Accuracy & V.A.T.S. Accuracy." Conversely, the Glow ability lets players consume radiation, granting immunity to diseases and mutations, increasing maximum health, and aiding in healing.
A Day In The Life of A Ghoul

Embracing the Ghoul life enhances exploration in the radioactive wasteland thanks to the new abilities and Gherks. However, this transformation can affect interactions with certain factions like the Brotherhood of Steel, potentially making them hostile and limiting access to specific questlines. Players can circumvent these restrictions with disguises provided by a new NPC, Jaye. If the Ghoul life doesn't suit you, reverting to human form is possible through the Character Screen, though it's a one-way decision unless you purchase the Ghoul Retransformation for 1000 Atoms.
Level 50 Character Boost and Season 20 Patch Notes

The Season 20 update also includes a Level 50 Character Boost available for 1500 Atoms, allowing both new and veteran players to quickly engage with multiplayer features like Daily Ops and Public Events, as well as some story content. Alongside this, the update addresses bug fixes, balance tweaks, accessibility improvements, combat balancing, and weapon damage adjustments.
Bethesda has also teased the upcoming "The Big Bloom" update, set for April 29, as part of their season calendar. Since its launch in November 2018, Fallout 76 has overcome initial challenges and now boasts a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam with 76% positive reviews. The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
