Albion Online Launches Major Abyssal Depths Update

First introduced back in May, the fantasy sandbox MMORPG Albion Online has officially launched its highly anticipated Abyssal Depths update. Sandbox Interactive has delivered a brand-new way to experience this world of swords and sorcery.

What Does the Abyssal Depths Update Add to Albion Online?

True to its name, the update introduces a new dungeon type concealed within ancient, demon-plagued aqueducts. This compact underground labyrinth pits small teams of two or three players against both monstrous foes and rival adventurers.

Within the Depths, you'll spend a variable amount of time gathering Souls and accumulating powerful buffs as you venture further down. Defeat here is costly, but only your collected inventory is lost, keeping your equipped gear safe. The deepest chamber holds a locked Treasure Vault as the ultimate prize.

A unique feature of the update is the Antiquarian's Den. This grim underground hub, reachable from every Royal City and Caerleon, serves as a dedicated launch point for the Abyssal Depths, Hellgates, and Corrupted Dungeons.

The update also unveils the Antiquarian Standing system, centered on the shadowy figure who operates the Den. This system brings with it two new spiderling mounts: the Hellspinner and the Soulspinner.

Plenty of New Content to Discover

The Abyssal Depths expansion adds two remarkable Crystal Weapons to Albion Online: the Truebolt Hammer and the Stillgaze Staff. The hammer allows you to pulverize enemies with shocking power while providing a protective shield to nearby allies. The staff, meanwhile, grants the ability to transform into a formidable Crystal Cobra.

Finally, a new Character Progression section has been added to the Journal. Linked to the Destiny Board, it provides clear milestones, long-term achievement tracking, and unique rewards for your journey.
