If you've been eagerly waiting to snag one of the more budget-friendly Blackwell cards, your patience is about to pay off. Amazon is currently offering the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Windforce OC 12GB Graphics Card exclusively for Amazon Prime members at the list price of $609.99, complete with free shipping. This GPU is a powerhouse for gaming at up to 1440p, delivering high framerates and supporting the cutting-edge DLSS 4 technology. Plus, for a limited time, you'll receive a free voucher for the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages game with your purchase.
It's worth noting that the suggested launch price for a GeForce RTX 5070 card is $549.99. While a few models at this price point do exist, they're notoriously difficult to find in stock. The Windforce OC model is priced higher due to its overclocked (OC) version. However, at $609.99, this is currently the best deal you'll find for a standalone RTX 5070 GPU. Tom's Hardware reports that Nvidia is planning to increase GPU prices by 10%-15% in the near future, making this an opportune time to buy.
$609.99 at Amazon (Amazon Prime Members Only)
Compared to the previous generation, the RTX 5070 performs similarly to the RTX 4070 Super. While we hoped for a more significant generational leap in raw performance, the RTX 4070 Super was already a top performer for 1080p and 1440p gaming, launching at $599.99—just $10 less than this Gigabyte 5070 model. However, finding an RTX 4070 Super at this price is now nearly impossible. The RTX 5070 shines in games that support DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation, offering better looks and performance, making it a more future-proof choice that will benefit from driver optimizations.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Review by Jacqueline Thomas:
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 delivers on its promise to play games at 1440p with high frame rates. However, it doesn't significantly outpace the RTX 4070 Super or other cards in its price range. Its inclusion of Multi Frame Generation is a nice feature, especially for those with high-refresh monitors, but it might not justify an upgrade on its own."
$837.98 at Walmart (Newegg as the marketplace vendor)
If 4K gaming is your goal, the RTX 5070 might struggle to keep up. In that case, consider upgrading to the RTX 5070 Ti. This card rivals the RTX 4080 Super in performance and benefits from DLSS 4's multi-frame generation support. Walmart currently has a Zotac model available for $837.98.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Review by Jacqueline Thomas:
"For the price, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is the premier 4K graphics card for most gamers. It outperforms its predecessor significantly and, with DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation, will remain relevant for years to come."
