Godzilla Rampages Through Fortnite: How to Become and Defeat the King of the Monsters
Godzilla, the iconic kaiju, is stomping onto the Fortnite Battle Royale island, starting January 17, 2025! One lucky player per match gets to control the colossal creature. Here's your guide to becoming – and defeating – Godzilla in Fortnite Chapter 6.
Becoming Godzilla
The key to becoming Godzilla is finding and entering a randomly spawning rift. This rift appears only once per match at an unpredictable location on the island. Be the first to locate and jump into the rift to transform into the King of the Monsters!
As Godzilla, you’ll wield three devastating abilities: a Roar to pinpoint nearby players, a Mighty Stomp Attack to send opponents flying, and a powerful Heat Ray for significant damage. However, be warned: the entire lobby will be teaming up to take you down.
Defeating Godzilla
For the 99 players who don't become Godzilla, the challenge is on! Epic Games has strategically placed weak points on Godzilla. Focus your fire on these areas to trigger the drop of Godzilla Fragments, granting you 40 health and three dash charges – crucial for mobility during this intense battle.
The Rail Gun, temporarily unvaulted for this event, is a powerful weapon to utilize. High-rarity weapons are also highly effective. The player who inflicts the most damage on Godzilla earns the coveted Godzilla Medallion (with its own dash ability) and the exotic Burst Quad Launcher.

Even if you don't become Godzilla, defeating him is a rewarding experience, adding a significant accomplishment to your Fortnite journey.
Ready to face the King of the Monsters? Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
