Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, unveils his next project: MindsEye. This high-octane spy thriller, showcased in a recent PlayStation State of Play trailer, bears a striking resemblance to Benzies' previous work. Expect intense third-person gunfights, stunning cinematic sequences, and thrilling drive-by shootings. View the cinematic trailer below:
MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist burdened by a neural implant, the MindsEye, that fragments his memories, leaving him with jarring flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth, Diaz confronts a formidable AI-powered military force determined to obstruct his path.
The game, a AAA action-adventure title, has been in development for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with IO Interactive (Hitman developers) on MindsEye. The project will also incorporate the "Everywhere" platform, previously described as a "big-budget Roblox," following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye promises an exhilarating action experience from a gaming legend. Anticipate its release sometime in Summer 2025.
