How To Unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds
While fishing might not be central to your main progress in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, it serves as a delightful diversion and hosts its own unique questline. Engaging with this questline is essential to acquire the specialized equipment needed to pursue the trophy and achievement.
Your journey begins by advancing through Kanya’s fishing questline, which involves completing the following side quests:

Seeking the Goldenfish: Head to the Scarlet Forest in Area 6 where you can find pools of water in caves. Use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits to catch the Goldenfish. The Fallow weather state increases the chances of the fish spawning.
Fishing for Favor: Catch the Gravid Bowfin at the Scarlet Forest base camp during the Plenty weather condition. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line in the water to secure this catch.
The Catch of a Lifetime!: For this quest, you need to catch any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame. The Tuna found in the lake at Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is a popular choice. Hook a big fish and patiently reel it in.

Once you've completed these quests, Kanya will introduce the Razzle Dazzle quest, which is pivotal for unlocking the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. Here’s what you need to do:
Travel to the Scarlet Forest, specifically Area 17, where the weather must be in the Downpour state during Inclemency. You can wait by the grill or rest at your camp to change the weather conditions.
Approach the lake and venture into the deep end until you can't go further. Look for squids swimming around. If none are present, fast travel to another location and return to see if they spawn.
Use the Tentacle Jig provided by Kanya to start fishing. While you'll need to catch the Grand Escunite as part of the quest, your goal for the trophy and achievement is the Goliath Squid.
Identify the squids by their glowing blue shells. Once you hook a squid and the reeling minigame begins, you're on the right path. Fight the creature and reel it in when it tires. When it's close enough to shore, you can pull it out, securing the Goliath Squid and unlocking the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement.
That's all you need to know to unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides, be sure to check out The Escapist.
