Starting the Hermit Quest
The Hermit quest automatically unlocks upon completing several quests for Radovan, the blacksmith, in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After returning Radovan's lost cart, he'll commission you to forge a wedding gift, initiating the Hermit questline. Before confronting the hermit, however, you must gather information from Troskowitz villagers.
Gathering Information
Begin by speaking with Innkeeper Betty at the Troskowitz tavern, exhausting all dialogue options. Then, speak with other villagers—the alehouse maid and trader are good starting points—to glean further information.
Talking to Gerda and Stanislav
Next, talk to Gerda in Troskowitz. She witnessed a relevant event. Either pay her a small sum or succeed in a dialogue check to obtain her testimony. Afterwards, speak with Stanislav in Apollonia; again, a dialogue check or a small bribe will yield the information you need.
Gathering Evidence
With the information gathered, locate the cross Gerda mentioned. You'll need a spade (purchaseable from the Troskowitz trader or found in cemeteries) to dig up the grave. Inside, you'll find Groschen and documents related to the Knights of the Cross.
Examine the documents. Then, proceed to the quest marker in Apollonia, where you'll find a hut and a black horse. Examining the horse provides your final clue, preparing you for the hermit's confrontation.
Confronting the Hermit
Approach the hermit's hut. Without prior evidence, the hermit remains uncooperative. However, armed with your findings, he'll become more forthcoming. Choose dialogue options that express suspicion and press him for answers. He'll reveal his true identity as Konrad. Before giving up the sword, he requests you deliver a cross to a widow named Margaret.
Find Margaret in the Apollonia cemetery, give her the cross, and optionally help her bury Ambrose (Sinful Soul quest). You can return to Konrad immediately if desired.
Helping or Killing Konrad
Returning to the hut, you'll encounter Crusaders. You can choose to aid them in killing Konrad or help Konrad escape. A stealthy approach allows you to speak with Konrad. After completing his request, you can choose to help or kill him. Killing Konrad is often easier, especially with the Crusaders and Mutt assisting. Afterward, you can sell the documents to the Crusaders for Groschen.
Retrieving the Hermit's Sword
