MiHoYo has stirred excitement among fans with a tantalizing glimpse into their next venture, potentially a Pokémon-like game. Dive deeper to uncover more about the trailer's hints and whether this is the long-whispered Honkai Nexus Anima.
During the Honkai Star Rail Concert livestream on May 4, 2025, MiHoYo unveiled a thrilling 20-second teaser that showcased Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail, both seen commanding creatures in combat. This brief glimpse has sparked speculation that the upcoming game could be a Pokémon-like battler, perhaps incorporating auto-chess strategy or monster-collecting elements.
The concept isn't out of the blue, given that both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail have successfully introduced creatures that fans have adored. Genshin Impact, for instance, features a monster-capturing mechanic within the Serenitea Pot, and events like "Fabulous Fungus Frenzy" allowed players to capture and compete with Fungi in a beast tamer tournament.
Similarly, Honkai Star Rail's "Aetherium Wars" event utilized the game's turn-based mechanics, where players could use monsters as battle partners, echoing Pokémon's core gameplay.
The teaser concluded with silhouettes of beloved characters, including a possible appearance by Aventurine from Star Rail, hinting that this new game will be a melting pot of characters from across the Honkai series. While fans are hopeful for the inclusion of Genshin Impact characters, the trailer confirmed the presence of figures from Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail.
The buzz around this new teaser has led many to believe it could be the rumored Honkai Nexus Anima, which MiHoYo trademarked just weeks ago. Though the trademark filing was sparse on details, the timing aligns intriguingly with the teaser's release.
Adding fuel to the speculation, previous job listings from MiHoYo hint at diverse projects, including "Character Concept Art (Anthropomorphic Animals)" for a chibi-style life simulation and "Scene Concept Art – Honkai IP Pre-research" for fantasy spirit companions. These hints align with the teased game's potential themes.
While MiHoYo has yet to officially confirm this game as Honkai Nexus Anima, the community remains abuzz with anticipation and theories. This new addition to the Honkai universe promises to be a fresh and captivating experience, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more details and the eventual release.
