During its extended Memorial Day Sale this week, HP presents an excellent offer on its 17-inch gaming laptop. You can now purchase the HP Omen 17-inch RTX 4070 gaming laptop for just $1,199.99 with free shipping by applying the 20% off coupon code "LEVELUP20" at checkout. You don’t need to spend a fortune on the latest Nvidia Blackwell GPU to enjoy top-tier gaming performance. While the RTX 4070 is from the previous generation, it remains a powerful GPU, performing nearly on par with the newer RTX 5070.
The HP Omen 17 gaming laptop features a 17.3-inch 2560x1440 240Hz IPS display, AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. The AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS offers a maximum boost clock of 5.1GHz, with 8 cores and 16 threads. This CPU is less power-intensive than high-performance HX-series processors, yet it delivers comparable gaming performance, particularly at 1440p, while extending battery life slightly.
The RTX 4070 GPU in this laptop performs closely to the RTX 5070, with only a 5%-10% performance edge for the newer model in most games. This makes the RTX 4070 an impressive value, especially since RTX 5070 laptops start at around $1,500. For a significant performance boost, you’d need an RTX 5070 Ti laptop, which typically costs closer to $2,000.
