Suzanne Collins' highly anticipated fifth installment in *The Hunger Games* series, *Sunrise on the Reaping*, is poised to be the biggest book release of 2025. Already a top seller on Amazon, even surpassing the top five before its official release, the book's popularity is unsurprising, given the immense success of the previous novels and their film adaptations. In fact, *Sunrise on the Reaping* itself is slated for a movie adaptation in 2026.
*Sunrise on the Reaping* will be released on Tuesday, March 18th. Amazon currently offers discounts on both hardcover and Kindle editions. Exclusive editions with bonus content are also available from Barnes & Noble and Target.
Release: March 18, 2025.
Amazon's current discount applies only to hardcover preorders (30% off). The Kindle eBook offers a more budget-friendly option at $18.99, available upon release. A paperback edition is expected approximately one year after the hardcover release.
Contains bonus extras.
For special editions, Barnes & Noble offers a version including a conversation between Suzanne Collins and her publisher. Target's exclusive edition details remain undisclosed. Amazon also offers a hardcover boxed set releasing June 3, 2025.

The fifth book in *The Hunger Games* series, *Sunrise on the Reaping*, unfolds 40 years after *The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes* and 24 years before Katniss Everdeen's story begins. The narrative centers on the Second Quarter Quell, a pivotal event won by Haymitch Abernathy, the mentor from District 12 (portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the films).
Narrated by Jefferson White (known for *Yellowstone*), the audiobook, with a runtime of approximately 12 hours and 48 minutes, is released concurrently with the book. It's available for $20.47 or free with an Audible free trial.
